Children’s Dental Care
Without proper care and regular dental appointments, your child’s teeth are susceptible to a broad range of oral health problems. At Sunnybank Plaza Dental, our team provides high-quality dentistry for the entire family. Your child’s teeth should be looked after starting at an early age. With our children’s dentistry services, your child will have the best possible chance of enjoying a long-lasting, healthy smile.
When to Start
We recommend that a child have their first dental visit by the time they are 2 years old. They can become familiar with our clinic and staff early in life and won’t ever have apprehension at visiting the dentist.
Any potential problems can be caught straightaway and evaluated. We’ll also teach kids simple home care so that they can take some control over their oral hygiene.
At their first visit, we’ll try to keep it fun for them so that they can feel excited. You can bring up any concerns you have about your child’s teeth and have all your questions answered.
It’s also a great idea to bring your younger children in with you when an older child has a dental appointment. We’ll give them a “ride” in their dental care and help them feel enthusiastic about having a checkup. Each child receives a gift pack when their appointment is completed.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule
We are happy to welcome children who are eligible for the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. The benefits allow up to $1000 in dental care every two years. Basic dental services such as examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fissure sealants, root canals, fillings, extractions and partial dentures are covered.
If your child is between the ages of 2 and 17 and receives a government benefit such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, then they are eligible for this programme.
