The DIOnavi Digital Implant System increases the accuracy of implant treatments

For patients that are missing teeth due to injury, decay or gum disease, dental implants are an ideal replacement option. Through the innovative DIOnavi Digital Implant System, getting dental implants has become a very safe and accurate treatment.

What is involved?

  • Prior to surgery, the dentist will use 3D planning to accurately analyse the bone tissue and nerve position in your jaw and determine the best possible position to place the implant fixture.
  • During surgery, a flapless technique is used to insert the implant. This method minimises bleeding, swelling and recovery time in comparison to traditional methods.
  • Following a period of healing, the implant can then be restored with a natural looking crown.

Is the treatment painful?

Because digital dental implant treatment is less invasive, it is usually less painful than conventional implant treatment.

In a conventional procedure, the dentist needs to make an incision into the gum to expose the bone. After the dentist has checked the condition of your jaw and the position of your nerves surrounding it, they will then insert the implant. This is known as a flap surgery and sometimes needs to be performed over multiple visits.

In comparison, a digital implant procedure does not require a wide incision to be made into the gum as the bone condition and nerve position has already been checked using a 3D radiograph of your mouth and jaw. To minimise pain and swelling, a tissue punch technique is used to insert the implant. This form of flapless surgery can often lead to a better aesthetic outcome for the patient.
